Somos Parte (We are Part) Iniciativa addressed the social exclusion of people with disabilities in Chaco, Argentina, by creating tools and interactive events to dismantle ideological barriers. We created educational resources and facilitated 12 “Encuentro Inclusivo” events across 5 regions, to foster empathy and build a culture of respect and peace.

Somos Parte was funded by a $10,000 Davis Projects for Peace grant, being the sole project awarded in Argentina for the 2025 cohort, selected among 136 projects worldwide.

The Challenge
Social exclusion of people with disabilities in Chaco, Argentina is sustained less by physical barriers than by ideas: stigma, misinformation, and little accessible information about disability rights. The challenge was to design materials that make complex rights topics clear to the general public, and to turn awareness into a visible commitment to inclusion.
The Design Solution
I designed a system of five triptych pamphlets, one for each essential disability rights topic, developed with IPRODICH specialists so the content is accurate and grounded. Flyers distributed across Chaco promoted the pamphlets and sent people to the website, where all the content lives, and a QR code on each piece gave direct access to it. At events, every participant received a personalized credential to sign with their name, turning a commitment to build an inclusive community into something they could hold.

Each “Encuentro Inclusivo” event was intentionally kept small and conversational —no more than 40 to 60 participants— to build genuine trust and create the conditions for real dialogue around disability inclusion. Impacting over 2,000 people across 5 regions of Chaco proved that when you build with purpose, design becomes a catalyst for real-world change.
